Basic Internet

Seldom used a mouse before? Then this hands-on class, perfect for seniors, is for you. Learn how to access and interact with sites on the World Wide Web, scroll, understand Internet terminology, and execute a simple search using a search engine.


Browser Functions

Learn what your browser can do. This class includes favorites and favorites management, printing and print preview, saving to a disk (downloading), and filling out forms on the Internet. (Prerequisite: basic typing skills as well as knowledge and comfort with the Internet.)


Searching the Web

Learn techniques that result in more effective and refined Internet searches. Become familiar with several search engines and learn what makes each one unique. (Prerequisite: basic typing skills as well as knowledge and comfort with the Internet.)


Microsoft Word

Learn word processing basics using Microsoft Word. Take a detailed look at drop down menus and toolbars, concentrating on the most important options such as cut, paste, spell check, bold, font, size, and save. Learn how to make a document beautiful. (Prerequisite: typing and mouse skills important.)

 

All classes are free.  Each two-hour class is held in the Computer Training Lab on the first floor of the Bausch and Lomb Public Library Building, 115 South Avenue, Rochester, New York 14604. Registration is required.   Class size is limited.
