Library Knit Chicks will resume meeting twice per month to stitch up some fun! Join us on two Saturdays, Jan. 8th and 29th at 10:30 am. Coffee, tea, and crafty fun are in store when you attend.

Second Week, Second Chance Mini Book Sale: During the week of Jan. 10-15th, volunteers will set up a table or two of gently-read hardcover fiction for you to peruse during business hours. Proceeds benefit the library’s book budget.

Keep your New Year Resolution to simplify your life with our two-part series presented by Joani Hardy, Professional Organizer & Clutter Coach…

The Psychology of Stuff- Where Less is More”:  Tuesday, January 11th from 7-8:00 pm. Understand how possessions come into our lives and then somehow take over. Joani will help you learn where you can apply organizing skills to take back control. Space is limited and registration is required.

Time Management: Tuesday, January 18th from 7-8:00 pm. Learn tips, tricks, and tools you can use to more effectively manage our most valuable commodity- time. Space is limited and registration is required.

Family Bingo Night will take place on Monday, January 17th from 7-8:00 pm. Families are invited to come and play Bingo in the new Rush Town Park Pavilion. Admission is free and snacks and sodas will be available. Prizes will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Please register in advance.

Friends of the Rush Library will meet on Wed., January 19th at 6:30 pm. We’ll be finalizing the Wine Tasting jobs plus planning other fun events to benefit the library. New members are always welcome.

Star Wars Saturday on January 22nd from 11:00 am-1:00 pm presented by The 501st Legion’s Garrison Excelsior. Children and parents will be able to meet Star Wars characters who will pose for pictures and sign autographs. Children are encouraged to come in costume and there will be a Star Wars related craft area for activities. Please register in advance for this exciting program. Bring your camera!

Rush Reader’s Book Club: January’s choice is A Yellow Raft in Blue Water by Michael Dorris, and we’ll discuss it on Thursday, January 27th or Thursday, Feb. 3rd from 7-9:00 pm. This is a cross-generational story of three Native American women in Montana who must come to grips with the past. “The bitter rifts and inevitable bonds between generations are highlighted as the story unravels and spills out a long-kept family secret.” Join us for coffee, dessert and stimulating conversation. Space is limited and registration is required.
